The OMT division is committed to furthering the professional development of our members when they need it most: during the early stages of their careers.
The Dissertation Proposal Workshop is for doctoral students who are developing their dissertation proposal. Attendees are able to tap the wealth of experience and knowledge of several senior faculty to gain advice on how to move towards their first major contribution to the field: the dissertation.
The OMT/MOC Dctoral Student Consortium is for advanced doctoral students who have made significant progress towards defending their dissertation and who plan to seek an academic job in the near future.
The Junior Faculty Consortium is for assistant professors (or those of equivalent rank). The workshop provides a forum for interacting with senior colleagues to glean insights into the knowledge that you need to prosper in both the local and global academic environment.
The Junior Faculty Paper Development Workshop is an opportunity for transfer of tacit knowledge between senior scholars who have been successful in overcoming barriers to publishing and promotion, and aspiring junior faculty who wish to emulate them.
